A popular underwater movie downloading app has been shut down, and the site has now been taken offline entirely.
The Torrenting Tracker website, which is owned by a company called Pirate Bay, had previously been operating in Canada and was accessible from the US and Australia.
TorrentingTracker was one of the first sites to offer the option of downloading movies using VPNs, and was the first to offer a torrent client for Android.
It also had a website that allowed users to share links to movies via email, which users could then access on their computers.
TorrentFreak was able to contact Pirate Bay’s manager for a comment, and he told us the company was shutting down the site for maintenance.
We were able to verify that the site had been offline for maintenance, but it appears the site will now be inaccessible for a few days.
We reached out to Pirate Bay for comment and will update this article if we hear back.
Torrents are usually available via torrent sites like Mega and MegaClover, but the Torrent Tracker site was one that users would be able to download from directly on their Android phones or tablets.
Torrent Tracker, however, had a separate website that would allow users to download movies using a VPN or Tor.
Torrentfreak reached out with a request for comment, but received no response.
We’ve contacted Pirate Bay and will provide more information as soon as we receive it.
